Home security
The cameras, the video intercom, the locks and the alarm all talk to the Écrin. You know what happened, and who did it.
An alert, then the footage: when a camera sees someone, your iPhone is notified. You tap the alert, and the clip of the detection opens.
ÉCRIN HOMEPerson detectedEntrance camera, just now.
9.42 pmSomeone walks past the entrance camera. The camera itself saw them, and your iPhone is notified.
9.42 pmYou tap the alert and the clip opens: with a Dahua recorder, eight seconds before, twenty-two after.
9.43 pmEverything is in the log: entries, calls, detections, alerts.
- The alertThe entrance camera sees a person, and the iPhone is notified.
- The clipOne tap and the clip opens: with a Dahua recorder, eight seconds before, twenty-two after.
- The logEverything is written to the house log.
An illustrative alert. This site never shows footage from a real camera.
Detections come from the cameras
Person, vehicle, line crossing. The camera decides. The Écrin never invents a detection: it passes it on, files it and shows it.
- The site alarmWhen armed, the Écrin triggers the cameras’ deterrents, their voice warnings and flashing lights, and alerts your phones. Whatever is shown as armed has been checked in the cameras themselves.
- Alerts that break through the silenceA real ringtone and the alarm get through Sleep and Focus modes, on the iPhone and on the watch.
- Cameras kept in checkA camera that goes silent or whose clock drifts is flagged, and its clock can be reset with a single tap.
- Cameras on the TVThe cameras in full-motion video on Apple TV, as a mosaic or full screen.
Review what happened
With a Dahua recorder, playback comes from the home’s own recorder: the cameras can be reviewed as far back as it keeps footage. At the reference home: 17 days.
- Detections storedEach detection keeps its photos and its short clip, up to 100 GB by default. The oldest are deleted first.
- 24 hours for visitorsA visitor with camera access can only review the last day.
- The home’s logsEntries, calls, detections, alerts, each in its own tab, on the main Security screen.

The intercom, the codes, the locks
Who rings, who comes in, with which code. The Écrin knows, and tells you by name.
- The video intercomSomeone rings, and your iPhone rings too. You see, you answer, you open, wherever you are.
- Codes have a nameEach keypad code is named once. From then on, the notification says ‘Sarah opened the gate’.
- LOQED and Nuki locksLock and unlock from the app, with a code to open. LOQED tells you who opened it, key by key. With the Nuki keypad, codes created by the Écrin carry a name: ‘unlocked at the keypad, Bérénice’s code’.
- A photo every timeEvery ring and every opening at the intercom is photographed and kept in your home.

Protected devices
- Protected devicesA protected light is never switched off by ‘turn everything off’. A rule that names it still controls it.
- ‘Turn everything off’ means the lightsThe all-off command switches off the lights, never the charger, the gate or the freezer.
- A ‘yes’ before openingBy voice, opening the gate or disarming the alarm waits for your confirmation.
Already have an alarm system?
The Écrin can connect to it, subject to a quote, depending on the system. Your installer will tell you what is possible with yours.
